grown up lunch.... : )

Here is Lily looking at some really big pigeons and calling them cats...

Katie and I celebrated her sons second day of real school with a grown up lunch, which she hasn't really gotten to do on a weekday in a while. Of course, we had to go to Hartford since its the only place that kids can run crazy while grown ups pretend they're having grown-up lunch... : )

Lily had lots of fun eating grilled cheese and writing on the chalkboard...and getting chalk all over her shirt. You can tell from her outfit that she was dressed as me today.....black shirt, jeans, black shoes... The funny thing is, I had on a pink shirt and red shoes! Maybe thats only funny to me...

"I feel crazy so I sit in my soup"

Here is Lily dancing to her favorite music (believe me, she has an opinion. NO Justin Timberlake for her) Lily and I dance at least once a day, complete with tambourines, spinning, wiggling....and someday she'll join in... : ) I think I use it as an excuse to dance crazy...its good for the psyche. We dance to Laurie Berkner, who is a great kids musician, very funny and perfect for kids without being dumb.

new eyeballs

This picture was going to be cute, she was sitting there with a diaper on her head, smiling big. And, then, like every other picture I try to take lately......in the split second it takes the camera to take the picture, she's off to something else!! : )

Here's my new glasses!! They're purple!!

1,2,3,4, wait, crap....1,2,3,4

Sunday was my 9th inventory for ye olde brookstone. It was definately the fastest one yet, coming in at just under 9 hours, including a long lunch break at the california pizza kitchen. So tired!!

Lily has learned how to put her clothes on over her head...its really cute, because sometimes she doesn't get it all the way on, so her head will be covered. You'll hear a little laugh, then look over and she will just sit there with it on her head until someone laughs at her. This, of course, has lead to lots of drawer emptying, followed by putting everything on, taking it off, over and over. : )

kitties like crackers, right?

Did you know that kitties do not like to eat crackers, but don't mind their hair being brushed with one? This science news brought to you from the lily institute of kitty studies.

Chris has been in his chair too much lately.....Lily just climbed up in it and just sat there, reclined back. The other day she was pointing at it, and I said "yes, thats Daddys chair". Then I asked where Mommies chair was, and she ran over to the couch. Yuck!

Now that Lily knows how to say 'uh-oh' and mean it, life has entered a new era. I just heard 'rriip'..."uh-oh"....and turned around to see my purse emptied out on the floor. fun stuff!

Thursday

Here is Lily playing with her Learning House that she got for Christmas...
Thanks Grammy!

Last night we had a late night out....Zac and Katie had us over for a nice little dinner. We had a good time, and Lily had a blast with Gavin. He was a good "babysitter", even though we kept having to ask where the baby was. : ) Lily got to play on Gavins real drumset, which she enjoyed. She's got rhythm!

girls day out

To celebrate the ending of the yuckiness, Lily and I had a nice day out Sunday. We started with brunch at the Hartford Coffee House, where we had yummy food, made some new friends, and danced to a lady playing a banjo.
Afterwards we took a nap at the park, then played on the new playground at Forest Park, which is an amazing place. Every part of the playground is wheelchair accessible, and the swings are specially made for any child to use. We had lots of fun petting dogs and listening to the music chimes!

One for the record books....

All clean! This is what Lily thinks of having her hair blown dry (and her picture made sitting on the toilet seat)

No, really, Mom, I'm done here, let me go color! and change that toilet paper
roll!

The plague seems to be passing, Lily is down to just a runny nose and I am feeling a little better.

She is coloring all over the place, which was cute at first, but now we're realizing our mistake. I caught her coloring in a reading book this morning! She's definately making some of my bills alot prettier, though....I hope accounts payable doesn't mind the doodles!

Where's grannys couch when you need it?

Day two of the plague: I am still in my pjs, Lily is playing with my cell phone, also still in her pjs. I apologize to anyone on my call list that she is probably calling right now.... : )

Mama, I don't feel good, come get me! : ) Take me to Grannys!

uh-oh...

Here is Lily coloring a pretty picture...then she ripped it up, colored her face green, and smiled so big. A budding artist!

so, lily has learned how to remove her diaper.....I can't keep them on her now! Every one that goes on comes right back off.

Today, Lily and I are going to target to buy a new sheet/comforter set and some decorations for me and Chris' bedroom. I'm over the minimalist decor that its been sporting for the last year or so. I'm pretty excited because he's not going with me, so I get to pick the girliest thing I can find. Thanks Granny and Mom!

christmas in january

This weekend Lily and I made the short trip down to dyersburg to visit family. This year we decided that instead of a mad dash trip Christmas eve, we'd wait a few weeks and spend the whole weekend. It was wonderful! Lily really enjoyed seeing the country, I enjoyed seeing my brothers and sister in the same room for more than an hour!
