monsters of the world beware

last night, Lily made her nightly secret trek into our bed (we still haven't figured out how she does it without us noticing). In the middle of the night, she woke up:

Lily: (sits up in bed) "Whats zat? Whats zat Daddy? Daddy, Whats zat?" (pointing to door)

Me: "Lily, thats the door"

Lily: "Whats zat?" (all said in her best scared little girl voice)

Chris: "Its a towel"

Lily: "Oh, OK. " (thumb in mouth, instantly back asleep"

So, Chris conquered his first monster! The towel monster was defeated!

These pictures are from our recent visit to the botanical gardens here is St. Louis. It is one of my favorite places in the city.

Lily can count! Out of nowhere, she has started counting to eight.....with the occasional blue thrown in. She is starting to play with her language skills alot more, which is producing some hilarious stuff.

Yesterday we took her to the park, hoping to get some pictures for our christmas card. We learned last year that taking a good picture takes a while with this kid, so we're getting a jump on it. Unless our christmas picture is going to be a blur of her swinging......yesterday didn't get us anywhere. : )

fall lovin

so, i'm no good at updating these things. The last two months have been pretty uneventful, Lily started her new school and turned 2! We had a great Halloween, with Lily dressing as a beautiful ballerina. She loves to put on her tutu and ballet shoes (nina shooos) and dance with me. I guess those 7 years of dance class aren't wasted. So far her only consistent step is arabesque, which she loves to do for extended amounts of time... : )

Christmas is starting to ramp up at the store, and this year I'm actually running two stores. I'm enjoying the challenge and I think the second store is going to do well. Not so sure about my home store, though.
