some new lily news....
We had a fantastic time at the beach....lily really enjoyed the water and spending time with all of her cousins. On our way home we got to stop in Asheville and eat and then spend the night in Knoxville. We went to the Tomato Head (my favorite tofu sandwich in the world) and had brunch with Stanton before coming back to reality!
Lily had her first haircut last week. I took her to a place that was geared towards kids, but I was a little disappointed. Their gimmick went a little too far, with a video screen at every station and a wall full of video game consoles. I hope my child never needs that much digital intervention to sit still for 15 minutes!
She is starting to love playing with babies....she loads them all up, puts them to sleep, carries them around, and (yeah!) she holds them close (nurses) when they need to eat. I'm so proud of my little attachment parenting toddler. Those will be some secure baby dolls!
Last night Lily and I went to an outdoor concert up the street. It was awesome! There were lots of kids of all shapes and colors, all dancing to a Temptations cover group. There were families bbq-ing, people on blankets, etc. Lily and I didn't really sit, we were too busy meeting everyone. She would sneak into their groups, then quietly sit in one of their chairs and suck her thumb until someone noticed. We met a family with a 1yr old, and Lily kept crawling around like a baby, until he started to follow her. when she realized her new power, she lead him off! Luckily they didn't get very far.
