so another lazy thursday.......here is lily enjoying some coffee at the window....watching the world go by. Today we are going to hartford for lunch with a friend, and then on a search for houses. Lily and I looked at houses with the realtor on Tuesday, and we have more tomorrow morning. It seems like we're going to be deciding between either a not-so-nice big house, or a really nice small house. any suggestions?

Here's what I think ... just what you need ... your mother-in-law's opinion ... however, been there ... done that ... got all the t-shirts in all the sizes!
If you choose a "big not-so-nice house" that needs "work" to make it nice ... make sure you can afford the Home Depot/Lowe's monthly expenses on top of your mortgage payment!
And do you and your hubby have the time - or the inclination - to work full time jobs, have Lily time, have "you" time, have "couple" time ... and take care of a money-pit?
Go rent the movie "Money Pit" and imagine Hope and Michael in the starring roles ... then substitute Amanda and Chris! Scary!
And you need tools on top of all those supplies ... I vote a small nice starter house and trade up!

yes...Chris and I met with the realtor tonight for a while, and we definately had a wakeup call that Chris and I were not on the same page! However, we've regrouped, refocused, and I'm going out tomorrow morning to look in some different areas. Everyone will be glad to know he's talked me out of the city... : )
